First person view and speedometer
Insert a controller into port 3. Now press Start on that controller while in Original or Arcade mode. You select a first-person view by pressing B and can switch back to normal view with A, get an alternate viewing angle with Y, and a speedometer will appear by pressing X five times with the same controller ported into slot three.

Expert mode
At the character select screen press and hold the left and right triggers along with the start button. If the code was entered correctly, the word expert will be in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. There will be no stop or arrow indicators in this mode.
